Take two of our online baseball betting picks of the week. Here’s a look at Friday’s top games.

Phillies at Dodgers: Great baseball betting matchup here. I think these are the two best teams in the NL right now. Who would’ve thought the Dodgers’ would’ve kept pace after they lost Manny, but that’s exactly what they did, maintaining the best record in the entire league. LA throws Eric Milton, who has only started three games so far, but is 1-0 with a solid 3 ERA. Phillies throw ageless Jamie Moyer, who has a less than impressive record (4-5, 6.75) on a much more impressive team. So give LA the edge there, freshness over experience. The Dodgers are first in the NL in average, runs and on-base percentage, no small feat. They’ve been top in the league pretty much all year. They’re also second in ERA and first in opposing team’s average. Those are incredible numbers. They should be heavy favorites, even though the Phillies are playing well. Dodgers -175, Phillies +140. The Dodgers are the solid pick here.

Angels at Tigers: While the Rangers have a solid lead in the AL West right now, it’s not big enough to dismiss the Angels, who are above .500 and interested in regaining what they believe is rightfully theirs – first place. The Tigers have the distinction, still comfortably situated ahead of the somewhat back to life White Sox. Detroit is first in the AL in ERA at 3.87, which doesn’t say a whole lot for the league, but is still impressive. Unfortunately, their offense falls far behind at 10th. Plus, they’ve dropped two out of three in their first series at Los Angeles already. Edwin Jackson will offer them a chance, though. The hurler is 5-3 with an incredible (for the AL) 2.3 ERA. Look for him to stack up at least a half dozen K’s against the Angels. L.A’.s pitcher will be Ervin Santana. At only a couple games started, you were willing to give him another shot, but after 4 starts this year, he’s 0-2 with a 9.5 ERA, and he has less than 3 strikeouts a game. You need to make sure that you properly analyze your starting pitchers before you make any bet. Not great numbers. The Tigers, proud to be leading the division right now, are out for revenge and want to set the tone for any possible playoff opponents, of which the Angels should be considered part of that group still. Tigers get a -130, +115 line, and I’ll take them for the pick in this game based on their pitching and team desire in this specific matchup.

Background

Kenneth Senzo Usui, also know as Ken Uston is one of the most popular blackjack players in the world, he has won millions at blackjack tables in unique ways. Ken Uston had born in the city of New York and when he was sixteen he began to attend Yale University and after completing his graduation at Yale he got and MBA from Harvard University. Post MBA, he worked regular jobs till he moved out to San Francisco where he was selected as VP at the Pacific Stock Exchange. Along with his VP job he used to spend most of his weekends in the casinos playing blackjack.

Early Career

While spending weekends playing blackjack at the casino, Ken Uston was in love with the blackjack game. He made many contacts and one of them was Al Francesco who was a professional gambler and ran a blackjack team. Soon Uston joined the team and began playing blackjack for the team and sharing profits with everyone. The team managed to make around 40K on the first weekend, however Ken received only $2K of the profits. The strategy the team had was they would count the cards and as the table gets favorable for the team, the big player will join the table and place big bets. Due to which the team will be able to bet big without drawing any attention on them since it would be a new comer making the bets at the table.

Team Play

In 1978 Ken Uston shifted to Atlantic City because of the new casinos and he also started his own blackjack team. Uston was not allowed to step in the casinos as he was caught onto his schemes, however in turn Uston filed a case against the casino that had done it. The courts declared Ustone to be correct, and said that casinos cannot ban someone into the casino due to the skills the person has. During the legal procedure Ken had lost the team that he had made and he was on his own again.

Since Uston was all by himself, he began to play blackjack by himself by using different disguises. Uston was considered to be the master of making disguises for himself, this helped him win millions of dollars from the casinos throughout the years he played blackjack. Ken Uston is also an author of various books which includes “The Big Player and “Million Dollar Blackjack”.

In 1987 due to a heart failure, Ken Uston passed away, however all the years that he played blackjack he had made a mark on the blackjack world that people talk about today as well. His books on blackjack are known to be the best ones every written. Uston was a arcade game enthusiastic, he would be often seen at the Easy Street Pub, south from the Playboy Casino in Atlantic City and playing Las Vegas Blackjack. He used to compete with other customers of the pub in Pacman and was pretty good player who won various competitions playing Pacman.

When playing slots on the internet, an online slots player must fun their online slots account in some manner. Unlike playing live slots, you cannot merely load up an online slot with cash and begin playing. In order to fund your slots play, you have to transfer money into your online slots account. After the money reaches your account, you can then choose from the various slot games that the online casino provides.

The easiest way to deposit to an online slots account at SuperSlots Casino is by using a card with the Visa logo. Most online slots players can use their Visa Card regardless of whether it is a credit card or a debit card. Additionally, many online casinos accept MasterCard for deposits. When using a card like a MasterCard or Visa, the money is taken from the card and transferred into the casino player’s account. While the funds may be available immediately, it is important to remember that the transaction may not immediately appear on the statement. Because there is sometimes a delay in processing the actual transaction, it is important to keep track of the transactions you make so that you do not extend yourself.

Also important to note is that some online slots casinos credit cashouts back to the credit card before they will issue payment by any other source when you are cashing out your slots winnings. This means that the slots site may simply reverse the deposit before issuing a check if you have made a deposit to your slots account by credit card. For example, supposing you deposit $400 at your favorite online slots casino by using your Visa Card. You play through your deposit bonus and also win $800 in the process. The balance in your slots account is $1600, which is taking into account the initial $400 deposit, the $400 slots deposit bonus, and the $800 slots winnings.

A trip to the cashier begins the cashout request. Instead of sending you a check for $1600, Slots Oasis may well credit the $400 deposit back to your credit card. After charging back $400 to your card, the slots site would then send you a check for the $1200 that remained out of your slots money. You still receive $1600 through the entire transaction, but the original deposit is credited back. This helps reduce the cost of the transaction that the casino typically incurs on your behalf.

The World Cup is one of the only events that require a long time to prepare for, but with the action about to begin the groups and matches have been set. The 2010 World Cup will be played throughout the entire country of South Africa as a total of nine provinces will host matches. With tickets already over half-way sold, you don’t have that much time left to grab yours. The ticket prices for the 2010 World Cup are great and you can find certain tickets for as low as $20USD.

Let’s take a look at how the world cup groups ended up falling into place. There are some exciting groups and I can’t wait for the action to begin in June. There appears to be a fairly clear winner in each of the groups except for maybe 1-2 of them, but at the same time I’ve seen some crazy upsets in the World Cup before and nothing would surprise me anymore.

* Group A – South Africa, Uruguay, Mexico & France
* Group B – South Korea, Nigeria, Greece & Argentina
* Group C – Algeria, England, Slovenia & United States
* Group D – Serbia, Germany, Ghana & Australia
* Group E – Denmark, Netherlands, Japan & Cameroon
* Group F – Paraguay, Italy, Slovakia & New Zealand
* Group G – Brazil, Ivory Coast, Portugal & North Korea
* Group H – Chile, Switzerland, Honduras & Spain

There is never anything guaranteed at the World Cup Betting, which is one of the reasons why I love watching the event. Since upsets can happen in a blink of an eye, it keeps millions of fans on the edge of their seats. I definitely think that Argentina, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, France, England and Brazil have the best shot at winning their groups although you just don’t know what’s going to happen. I really could see Brazil having their hands full with Portugal in the group and it should be interesting to see how Group G ends up playing out.

Brazil and Spain are both the odds on favourite to win the 2010 World Cup with most of the online sportsbooks at this time, but that could change at anytime. England is also another team that is receiving a lot of action right now. After the three top teams you’re really gambling on an upset if you take anyone else. There is some excellent value in trying to bet on Germany, Italy, Holland, France or Argentina, but don’t be disappointed if the bet doesn’t come through since it’s a longshot.

If you’re looking to bet on the winner of each group rather then the entire 2010 World Cup you should focus on the best teams. You’ll need to pay juice in order to bet on one of the favourites to win their group, but it’s a fairly safe bet. For instance, you could bet on Spain to win their group. With only Chile, Honduras and Switzerland in the same group with Spain, I really can’t see them not winning their group.

The 2010 World Cup will begin on June 11th and the first round matches run until June 25th. You don’t have that much time to get your tickets and bets in for the first matches so start studying the teams right now.

In the NHL the teams fight every single year for one thing, and that one thing is to win the Stanley Cup. In order to win the Stanley Cup, teams need to first qualify for the playoffs. Only the top eight teams from each conference move onto the NHL playoffs every year with all of the division leaders automatically finishing atop of the division. Every round of the playoffs is a 7 game series which is broken down as followed. The higher ranked team will have home advantage which means that the first two games are played at their home rink. The next two games of the series are played at the other team’s arena. Then if the series is still being played the team rotate with one home game apiece. This means that if the series goes to game 7 the home team will have the home ice edge.

We’re going to look at the past Stanley Cup champions now starting with the team who has won the most amount of Stanley Cups. This list only consists of teams that are still playing in the NHL betting lines today only.

Montreal Canadiens – 24 Stanley Cup Championships
Toronto Maple Leafs – 13 Stanley Cup Championships
Detroit Red Wings – 11 Stanley Cup Championships
Boston Bruins – 5 Stanley Cup Championships
Edmonton Oilers – 5 Stanley Cup Championships
New York Islanders – 4 Stanley Cup Championships
New York Rangers – 4 Stanley Cup Championships
Chicago Blackhawks – 3 Stanley Cup Championships
New Jersey Devils – 3 Stanley Cup Championships
Pittsburgh Penguins – 3 Stanley Cup Championships
Colorado Avalanche – 2 Stanley Cup Championships
Philadelphia Flyers – 2 Stanley Cup Championships
Anaheim Ducks – 1 Stanley Cup Championship
Calgary Flames – 1 Stanley Cup Championship
Carolina Hurricanes – 1 Stanley Cup Championship
Dallas Stars – 1 Stanley Cup Championship
Tampa Bay Lightning – 1 Stanley Cup Championship

As you can see there are still quite a few teams who haven’t even been able to win one Stanley Cup yet. This is understandable for some of the teams who didn’t enter the league in 1995-2000, but some of the older teams have also had no luck in the playoffs.

Over the past ten years of NHL betting, we have been seeing a lot more different teams begin winning the Stanley Cup which has been great for viewership. Nothing is worse then watching a sport where there is no competition, but that’s clearly not the case for the NHL. The playoffs run for a couple months before ending in June with the Stanley Cup. After the Stanley Cup is over the season is over and there is no more hockey until the next season begins the following year.

The Canadiens hold the top spot for the most Stanley Cups, but that is because they won a lot of them when there were only 6 teams in the league. They haven’t been able to win a Cup for awhile, and the same goes for the Maple Leafs as well who sit in second place. Both teams have struggled the past few decades and haven’t been able to add to their totals.

With great tennis players such as Andy Roddick, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic and Raphael Nadal dominating the tennis world, men’s tennis is quite exciting to watch. Players such as Roddick, Federer, and Nadal always make for an exciting, action packed match – which is great for the tennis spectator and even better for the fan that enjoys placing wagers on men’s tennis matches.

In most Association of Tennis Professionals tournaments, which are commonly known as ATP tournaments, the men typically play matches that end when one player has won three sets. These best-of-five tennis matches are naturally a bit longer than those that are played by the women. Women’s tennis matches are played in a best two out of three format. When betting on tennis matches, the betting line is normally stated in a traditional money line format and the bet pays out based on who wins the match. A money line listing for the early rounds of a men’s tennis match may look something like the following:

Novak Djokovic -2000

Sergiy Stakhovsky +800

In the sample tennis odds above, Novak Djokovic and Sergiy Stakhovsky are set to play one another. You will notice a negative number after Djokovic’s name and a positive number after Stakhovsky’s name. These positive and negative numbers are the money line. With money line betting, positive numbers indicate how much one stands to win for every $100 they wager. This means a $100 bet on Stakhovsky to win would pay out $800 if he in fact won the match. Likewise, a $200 bet would pay $1600 and a $50 bet would pay $400 if he pulled out the victory.

While the positive numbers in the money line express the amount of money potentially won per $100 wagered, the negative number does not work the same way. The negative number in a money line indicates how much money must be wagered to win $100. Novak Djokovic is listed at -2000. This means that a person betting on Djokovic to win the match needs to put up or wager $2000 to win $100. Likewise, if the wager were $1000, the bettor would win $50 if Djokovic won our sample match and a winning $4000 bet would pay out $200. Clearly, Djokovic is heavily favored in this match to beat Stakhovsky and clearly, the value from a risk-reward standpoint would be on Stakhovsky if one believed he had a legitimate shot at winning.

While the National Basketball Association, NBA as it is commonly known, provides for some exciting basketball games, nothing makes a game more exciting than having money riding on the NCAA basketball betting games. Even watching your favorite NBA team like the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, or the Cleveland Cavaliers pull out a big win with a buzzer beating three cannot compare to the excitement and satisfaction of winning a bet by the slimmest of margins.

When betting NBA games, there are two methods by which a basketball bettor can place a wager. These two methods of betting are stated in a listing or betting line. The two ways one can bet on basketball is by way of the money line or through the point spread. When betting on basketball using the point spread, one team spots the opposing team points. The basketball team that is giving points to their opposition is known as the favorite, while the team receiving points is known as the underdog or the dog. A sample basketball game listed in with point spread betting line might look like the following:

Dallas Mavericks -5

Golden State Warriors +5

In this sample NCAA basketball Odds, the Dallas Mavericks are the favorite and the Golden State Warriors are the underdog. The negative number after the favored Mavericks team reflects the number of points that the Mavs are giving, which in this case is 5. Likewise, the Warriors, who are the dogs, receive five points. This bet pays out based on the final score of the basketball game. If the Mavs defeat the Warriors by more than five points, the bettors who have wagered on Dallas win the bet. If the Mavs win by less than five points or if they lose, then those who have bet on Golden State are paid. Bets using the point spread line are paid out at even money, which means that wagering $100 will return $100 on a winning bet. Likewise, a $50 wager on the winning side will return $50. It does not matter if you are getting points or giving points, as the point spread bets pay out even money for both favorites and underdogs. In the event that the final score with the help of a point-spread ends in a draw or tie, the bet is considered a push and money does not change hands.
